About Us


Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Institute, which is in organizational law of University of Mersin, founded on July 3rd, 1992 by Law No. 2547, began graduate education in academic year of 1993-1994. The Institute has master’s degree education in 18 programs (Biology, Environmental Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Physics, Food Engineering, Geological Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Education, Mathematics, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Aquaculture, Urban and Regional Planning, Biotechnology ,Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Manufacturing Engineering) and doctorate education in 9 programs (Biology, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Food Engineering, Geological Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Aquaculture). 67 research assistants work connected to the Institute and 5 administrative staffs work for the Institute.

Mission
The mission of our institute is to implement the duties and responsibilities assigned to the instutute in the light of Ataturks discourse Science is the most genuine guide in life, searching a guide other than the science is meaning carelessness, ignorance and heresy and under the fremework of Higher Education Act No. 2547, and to contribute the international recognition of our university.

Vision
The vision of our institute is to improve the quality criteria of graduate students and academic staff, enhance the university-industry cooperation, make education activities and education objectives compatible with the Bologna process, for following new scientific developments and technologies create a research environment with international competitiveness, to raise individuals who are contemporary, skilled, sensitive to problems of the country, and to gain our students a sense of responsibility and an understanding of what they have learned to use for the welfare of her/his country.
